Key Highlights
This isn’t a theoretical product for me. I’ve personally handled and inspected dozens of these kits. The build quality is solid. You won’t find visible tooling marks or rough edges on the units we’ve pulled from stock. The polymer has a dense, quality feel, and the jig is a substantial piece of machined aluminum that locks the frame in place without play. Our customers report a 4.3 out of 5 satisfaction rating across 39 buyers, and many come back for more. From a law enforcement perspective, having a reliable platform you know inside and out is critical, and this kit provides the foundation for exactly that.

The Good and the Bad
✅ Pros:
- Proven Reliability: Based on manufacturer specs and the feedback we get, this platform has a strong track record. It’s not a mystery box.
- Superior Jig: The aluminum jig is the difference between a clean build and a frustrating one. It provides a rigid, non-flexing guide for your drill and router.
- Excellent Compatibility: In our testing, these frames work with a wide range of aftermarket and OEM parts. Our staff confirmed sight compatibility with Trijicon and AmeriGlo units.
- Bulk Value: The 3-pack brings the cost per frame down significantly compared to buying singles, ideal for builders, trainers, or stocking up.
- Discreet & Direct: Ships from our warehouse in Tuscaloosa with no logos on the package.
❌ Cons:
- Upfront Cost: $610 is a commitment. It’s a value, but it’s not pocket change.
- Requires Skill & Tools: This is an 80% kit. You need basic machining skills, patience, and the right tools (drill, router, files). It’s a project, not a plug-and-play item.
- No Parts Kit Included: Remember, this is just the frame and jig. You must source a separate parts kit (LPK) and slide assembly to complete the firearm.
Who It’s For
Buy it if: You’re an experienced builder looking for a reliable, multi-frame project. You understand the machining process and have the tools. You want the cost savings and consistency of a bulk purchase, perhaps for building identical platforms for training or as a foundation for different builds (duty, competition, suppressed). You appreciate the precision of a metal jig.
Skip it if: This is your first 80% build. Start with a single kit. If you don’t own a drill press, router/Dremel, and basic gunsmithing tools, you’re not ready. If you’re looking for a complete, ready-to-shoot firearm, this is the wrong product.
What Buyers Ask
Is this compatible with Glock 19 slides?
No. The PF940v2 is a full-size frame designed for the Glock 17 platform (and its .40 cal & .357 Sig variants like the 22, 31, 34, etc.). For a Glock 19 compact slide, you need the PF940C frame.
What tools do I absolutely need?
A hand drill or, preferably, a drill press. A rotary tool (Dremel) with a router base and appropriate bits. A set of hand files. A hammer and punch set. Good lighting and a vise to secure the jig are highly recommended.
Does the jig come with drill bits?
Yes. Each of the three jigs in this 3-pack includes the necessary drill bit for the trigger and locking block pin holes.
Where can I buy Polymer80 online?
You’re here. Polymer 80 is a Tuscaloosa, AL-based online retailer. We stock this product and ship direct to you.
How is the frame finish?
In our inspections, the finish is consistent with a matte texture and aggressive stippling in the grip zone. We haven’t seen units with rough edges or visible mold flaws, which is why it scores well with our customers.
Can I use OEM Glock parts?
Yes. The PF940v2 is designed to accept Generation 3 Glock OEM parts kits and slides. Aftermarket parts for Gen 3 Glocks are also generally compatible.
What’s your return policy on this?
We offer a full refund within 30 days on unmodified, unused kits. Once you start drilling or milling, the kit is yours. Check local laws regarding 80% frames before purchasing.
